Not in order of preference...I loved them all!
– My Friends – By Fredrik Backman – I have been recommending this book to everyone that I know. This book will not only be making my list of favorite books of 2025, but it is one of my all-time favorite books. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and read this book. I spent all of my time either laughing or crying while I was reading it. It was a whirlwind of emotions that I just couldn’t get enough of. I’m not going to tell you much more than that. You need to experience this novel for yourself. I wish I were reading it again for the first time with you.
– Broken Country – By Clare Leslie Hall – This novel was beautifully written, passionate, and heartbreaking. Don’t be scared off by the fact that it is a love triangle. Nope, get back here! This book was absolutely stunning. I felt every emotion right to my core. When a book touches your heart this much, it is a winner!
– Promise Me Sunshine – By Cara Bastone – This was my first read by this author, and upon finishing this book I was in a mad dash to find other books by her (yes, it was that good). This novel is slow-burn romance goodness (my favorite), but it also deals with the topic of grief. Promise Me Sunshine has an absolutely fabulous cast of characters that you will adore. It is brimming with heart and personality, with a story that will do all sorts of things to your heart. I can’t express my love for this book enough.
– Great Big Beautiful Life, Funny Story, and Happy Place – By Emily Henry – The main thing that I realized after reading three of Emily Henry’s novels this year is that her books are my happy place. These were all 5-star reads for me, so you can’t go wrong selecting any of them, in fact, why just pick one? Her storytelling, her characters, the banter, it’s just a really good time.
– Problematic Summer Romance – By Ali Hazelwood – Now, if this novel doesn’t scream summer, I don’t know what does. I mean, it’s even in the title. If you are looking for a novel that is fun, a little angsty, set in a wonderful, breathtaking location, then this is your next read! It is a slow-burn, age-gap romance that is sure to please. Trust me, this book is just screaming to be packed in your suitcase and read on a beach somewhere.
– The Wedding People – By Alison Espach – I had heard so many wonderful things about this novel, and boy, were those people right! I loved this book from beginning to end. Although it does contain serious subject matter, the author delivers enough levity throughout the book to make it just right. I loved everything about this novel. The characters were perfectly flawed, there was emotion, humor, and plenty of hope.
