Say You'll Remember Me was just what I’ve come to expect from a book by Abby Jimenez. She knows how to deliver a novel that will have you feeling a whole gamut of emotions. She will make you fall in love, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings, and, of course, there will be a few animals that will up the adorable factor.
While her books always have a good dose of humor and lighthearted moments, she tackles serious issues that bring her stories to that next level, and this novel is no exception.
Xavier is a veterinarian. Need I say more? He is dedicated, hard-working, serious, and he is adamant that he succeeds in his career and life. When he meets Samantha at his clinic, they have a very interesting first encounter. There may have been some animosity, and a not-so-nice name may have been tossed out, but it was memorable. After all, it did lead to them going out on a date.
These characters had great chemistry. She was the spunky to his serious. They just made a good match, but family responsibilities were calling Samantha back to her home state of California, a long way from Xavier’s clinic and life in Minnesota.
Of course, I wanted them to make their relationship work, but long distance is difficult and expensive, and not an easy lifestyle for many people. I was there with them for the ups and downs, the hardships and the good times. The novel deals with some difficult subject matter, but this author never shies away from delivering a hard-hitting, emotional novel. She makes her characters go through the fire, but their journeys are always hard-fought and worth it.
Say You’ll Remember Me was another good read by one of my go-to authors. Her next book is already on my TBR list.
