2 Book Lovers Reviews

You just can’t go wrong with an Abby Jimenez novel. If you want a well-rounded story with characters that you will care about, plenty of lighthearted moments, a good dose of emotion, and a romance that will have you rooting for the couple, this author delivers.

Just for the Summer was another great read. I enjoyed getting to know Justin and Emma. They both had an intriguing dilemma that led to an even more intriguing meet-cute. You never know when you may encounter the love of your life, but when you seem to have a curse that hinders it, well, you need to find some way of breaking said curse. Emma and Justin both date people, break up, and the person they were dating always ends up finding “The One” right after dating them. So, when they hatch a plan to date each other, break up, and hopefully break their curses so that their next love interests end up being “The One,” well, they think they’ve come up with a brilliant plan.

I enjoyed the way that Justin and Emma met. I loved their interactions and their flirtatious banter. As I mentioned, this novel has its share of humor and lighthearted moments, but as with every book by this author, she also gives you a story with depth. Justin and Emma are both dealing with their own issues aside from their dating woes. They are both navigating their lives the best way that they can, all the while trying to get to know each other, even if it’s only supposed to be temporary.

Just for the Summer was an entertaining read. I am never disappointed by a book by this author. She consistently delivers a story that hits the right spot.
