2 Book Lovers Reviews

I was in the mood for a holiday read, but what I ended up getting with Grace & Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon was so much more.

This book was not a fluffy feel-good read to get you in the mood for Christmas. Oh, it had some light moments, nostalgia, and some great references to holiday shows and movies, but this book had plenty of depth as well. Grace and Henry had both lost their spouses this year, and with the holidays approaching, trying to navigate through their first holidays without their loved ones was going to be challenging. Grief is difficult subject matter, but Matthew Norman couldn’t have handled it better.

Let me just say that I adored the characters in this novel. I’m not sure that there could have been a better cast of characters. From the main characters to the secondary characters, they were just perfect.

You know how when you begin a book and you just know that it’s going to be special? Well, this was such a book for me. This novel had me hooked right from the get-go. It pulled me in, made me laugh, broke my heart, made me laugh again, and kept me happily flipping the pages.

Grace & Henry’s Holiday Movie Marathon was filled with clever storytelling, humor, witty banter, and so much heart. Just like our favorite holiday movies and shows that we look forward to curling up and watching year after year, this novel will be a new holiday tradition for me. I could have read about these characters for another three hundred pages.
