The title is the initial draw for this book, then comes the synopsis. And then, you are going to compare it to Grady Hendrix. This book had all the makings of a really fun time.

Promise and execution (no pun intended) can sometimes be two distinct and separate things. Think about it, the title of this book is just screaming fun; that old childhood saying, with a twist. Three girls, who couldn’t be more different, all dating the same guy; and this guy is the ultimate douchebag. This is a story that should be filled with shocking reveals. This is a story where I, as a reader, should be rooting for these ladies to get their vengeance and for Jason to get his comeuppance.       

And that is where the execution did not keep up with the promise. I get it, you need to move the story forward. The girls need to meet; they need to get Jason alone; someone has to die. But how do you do this? These are the things that make a story interesting. This story was too easy. Everything fell into place too conveniently. There was no tension. Will they survive? We all want a happily ever after or as a minimum, as happy as it is going to get; but the tension and suspense is in the not knowing. I felt as though everything was orchestrated without any consideration as to the likelihood that it would happen. Sure, Jason was an idiot; but even idiots know when to lay low.

This is a story with a great premise that I just felt lacked a bit of depth to bring it up to the next level. It will hit the spot for some, but not for others.
