2 Book Lovers Reviews
Honestly, there was no bad part to this novel. The Good Part had me laughing out loud and loving every minute that I got to spend with these characters. As always, Sophie Cousens has written a well-rounded book that has a wonderful romance, tons of heart, and plenty to smile about.
Lucy is tired of waiting for the good part of her life to start. Her good friends are all moving forward, either with their careers or their love lives while she just seems to be stuck in a rut. When she comes across a wishing machine in a convenience store, the eccentric lady working there tells her to make a wish. When Lucy wishes to skip to the good part of her life, she wakes up in a beautiful bedroom beside a handsome man, not knowing what has become of her life.
Imagine waking up next to a stranger, albeit a very handsome one, being a mother of two, a successful television producer, and to top it all off, you’re sixteen years older. It would be unnerving to say the least. Lucy doesn’t remember how she met her husband, fell in love with him, their wedding, or starting their family. She feels like an imposter in her whole life. She is determined to figure out what has happened to her and how she can go back in time to when she was twenty-six.
The Good Part had a wonderful story. I was so invested in Lucy’s life and what was going to become of her. I loved witnessing her journey and seeing her trying to navigate her new life with these new people and responsibilities. She felt as though she had missed so much of her life, all of the things that made her life what it was. In her haste to skip to the good part, she didn’t get to experience the journey, and that is what essentially makes the story of someone’s life.
I have enjoyed every book by Sophie Cousens, but this one just checked off all of my boxes. I’m not sure I could have enjoyed it more. The Good Part was my perfect read.
