2 Book Lovers Reviews

Anchor
(The Wake Series #3)
By M. Mabie

I can’t believe that Blake and Casey’s story has come to an end.  After being with them for three emotion filled books, I feel as though I’m saying goodbye to a couple of my friends.  I can wholeheartedly say, without any doubt in my mind, that M. Mabie sent these two characters out in the best possible way.  I don’t think I could have asked for anything more from the conclusion of this series.

Blake and Casey’s love was unexpected.  They didn’t set out to fall in love with each other.  It never seemed to be the right time for them, but it happened anyway.  They had that chemistry, that inexplicable “click” when two people just fit together perfectly, they complimented each other, and made the other person that much better.

Bait introduced us to Blake and Casey’s undeniable connection.  It was not an ideal beginning.  Their relationship began with the bad taste of betrayal and infidelity.  It was a whirlwind affair that had more highs and lows than a weather system, but all of the issues, heartache, and pain was what they had to endure to get them to where they wanted to be – together.

As a reader, I felt all of the emotions along with the characters right from the first page of the first book.  I rode that roller coaster right beside them, biting my nails and pulling my hair at times, but oh, what a ride it was!

I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and grow over time.  They had to learn to trust each other, to believe that their relationship could make it despite all of the hurdles.  M. Mabie did a phenomenal job of creating these characters – with all of their flaws, their quirks, their humor and banter.  She didn’t give them an easy time.  She made them work for their happily ever after.  It made me appreciate their love story that much more.    When they said, “We’ve got this”…they really did.
