​One is a Promise was everything that I had hoped it would be.  I didn’t want to put it down.  I didn’t want it to end.  I knew that this was going to be an all-consuming, tumultuous, sexy, angst-filled read – and I couldn’t be happier.  This is Pam Godwin at her finest.  She has woven an addictive tangled web…and I never want to escape.

I was hooked on this story and characters right from the beginning, and glued to the pages until the very last page.  I am always searching, hoping for that book that will make me feel all of the emotions right along with the characters.  I want to feel that connection.  One is a Promise took me to my reading happy place.  I was immediately invested in Danni, Cole, and Trace’s story and felt every emotion right in the pit of my stomach, from the fluttering butterflies to the anxiety and ache. 

This is a tricky review to write.  I would love to discuss all of the delectable details, but I don’t want to give any part of the story away.  Trust me, this is a book that you will want to lock yourself away with, put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign, and devour every single word. 

I will be the first one to admit that I never shy away from a fictional love triangle, I will run right to it.  What makes this one work so well is the characters.  It was impossible to dislike them.  Danni is a straight shooter, she says what’s on her mind, she’s stronger than she believes, and she’s feisty.  I adored her.  The two men in her life are strong-willed, dominant, protective, and possessive.  While one will melt you with his smile, the other will intrigue you with his stern demeanor.  But Danni’s life has been through the emotional wringer.  She has experienced her share of pain and grief.  I wanted her to find her peace of mind and happiness again.  I was in her corner right from the get-go, cheering her on and rooting for her.  Her story isn’t an easy one, and I wouldn’t expect it to be.  It’s a messy, complicated love story that will keep you on edge and enthrall you with all of its intensity. 

Pam Godwin has blown me away with this story.  I am torn in the best possible way.  One is a Promise was the perfect beginning to this captivating series.  I knew that if anyone could deliver a story that I would feel right down to my toes, shatter me, and make me crave so much more, it was Pam Godwin.  I am counting down the days until July 11th.  I need more of this story, these characters, and I need answers. 

This book is pure gold!
