Autumn Blakewood is a self-proclaimed nerdy girl. She was always pegged as a geek, being bullied in high school and never breaking free from that label. She is ambitious, studious and likes nothing better than being curled up with a good book. She is attending university and rooming with her best friend, Evie, who is the only true friend that she really has.

When Hunter Bain shows up at Autumn’s dorm room one day, she is intrigued. He is gorgeous, muscular and just screams of trouble. She immediately wants to know more about Hunter Bain. He seems to enjoy getting her riled up. He likes to get a reaction out of her, but he also finds himself drawn to her innocence and goodness.

Hunter is a mystery to Autumn. He shows up on campus with more than his share of bruises, cuts and welts. She has attended to many of his wounds and has tried to get any kind of information out of him as to why he keeps showing up in horrible shape. He is tight lipped and refuses to give her too much insight into his dark and dangerous world. Autumn can’t just let things go though. She is determined to find out what is going on and what kind of trouble he is involved in.

Autumn develops feelings for Hunter. He is everything she isn’t and she feels free when she is with him. He also makes her feel intimate things that she has never experienced before. She wants him.

As their relationship progresses, Hunter opens up a little to Autumn to give her a glimpse of his life. In the meantime, events with a deadly outcome take place at the university and danger seems to be lurking around every corner.

I enjoy reading books about the bad boy fighter who falls in love with the good girl. This book had a different spin to it from some of the others that I’ve read. Hunter’s reasons for being involved in the fight scene was unique from other books. There was also a bit of mystery and suspense that definitely added to the story. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
