2 Book Lovers Reviews

This is the second book in the Slammed series and it is so good! In all honesty, I cannot gush enough about the characters that Colleen Hoover has developed for this series.

Please don’t read this review any further if you have not read the first book in the series…I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.

The story continues with Will and Layken’s relationship and how they are coping with the loss of Layken and Kel’s mother, Julia. They have both experienced the loss of their parents and are raising their little brothers themselves. They develop a great system and they help each other out with raising the boys. They do find it a bit difficult to find time to be alone together and to just be young adults themselves. They have a lot of supportive friends and they make the best of their situations. They even have some new neighbors that come around quite a bit, and let me tell you….they are hilarious!

Things change for Will and Layken (Lake) when an ex-girlfriend shows up out of the blue. Layken begins to question the bond that her and Will share and she starts to doubt his reasons for loving her. She wonders if they would even be together at all if their circumstances had been different.

There is a lot more to this book that I am not even going to touch on. There are more twists and heartfelt moments that you just must experience for yourself. This book was such an emotional read. Keep your Kleenex box handy. This book was my “sweet” and my “suck” was that it ended!
