This book had a little bit of everything, it had suspense, romance, comedy, and a hot rock star!

The story is about Alexia, a woman who has been through a very traumatic experience and abandons her life in California to move to a quiet coastal community in Massachusetts. The cottage that she lives in has many fond memories for her since it had belonged to her late grandmother and she spent many summers there with her. She enjoys being secluded and living a quiet life on the beach.

Noah Matthews is a rock star in one of “the” top bands. His career is on fire and the band has had amazing success. He has been working and touring so much over the last few years that he decides that it’s time to take a well- deserved vacation. He just so happens to own the beach house next to Alexia. He meets her one morning while he is enjoying a cup of coffee on his balcony and she is crawling around in his garden taking pictures. He is immediately drawn to the beautiful woman in his yard. Being the gorgeous musician that he is, he has had plenty of women in his bed….but there is something more to Alexia.

Alexia finds Noah very nice and very easy on the eyes. It has been a long time since she has been with a man and she is not sure that she is ready, especially since Noah is only there for a vacation. Alexia has been filling her days with her photography and with her grandmother’s friends at the town senior’s center. The three older ladies are what puts the comedy in this story. They are something else! They are fun-seeking, man hungry (and that’s putting it nicely! Ha Ha), troublemaking seniors…and they give Alexia and everyone around them a whole lot of crazy!

Alexia thinks that the man who brutally attacked her is still locked away in California. Things have been happening to her though, which makes her more than a little suspicious and scared. She has been being watched and it looks like her stalker (who is a big sicko) is looking for a chance to finish what he wasn’t able to all those years ago. Luckily for Alexia, Noah has been by her side. Their relationship and feelings have grown and they are both more willing to turn their attraction into something more meaningful.

I am not going to say anything more! I won’t give anything else away. The story gets suspenseful…there is a pretty big twist in the story that I didn’t see coming.

All in all, the story was good. I would have liked a bit more with Alexia and Noah…a bit more angst, more detail with his career, more with their relationship. I know that the story was probably more about the suspense, but I’m just greedy I guess. There is a second book that will be coming out soon in this series.
